Jordana Avital is a dedicated freelance interpreter based in the vibrant Denver metro area, where she works with a diverse range of clients and communities. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Linguistics from the University of Southern Maine, where she first developed a deep interest in language, communication, and cultural exchange. She later went on to earn her Master of Arts in Interpreting from St. Catherine University, a program known for its rigorous academic standards and emphasis on professional ethics and practice.
With a strong foundation in both the theory and practice of interpreting, Jordana brings a thoughtful, client-centered approach to every assignment. Her work spans a variety of settings, including medical, mental health, and community-based environments. In addition to her freelance interpreting, she is deeply committed to supporting and mentoring the next generation of interpreters. She teaches interpreting courses at the Community College of Aurora and is also the founder of Poly Speak, a company dedicated to interpreter education and professional development.
Outside of her professional life, Jordana is a passionate roller derby player, finding joy and empowerment in the sport’s teamwork and intensity. She also cherishes time spent at home with her beloved pets, who offer a welcome balance to her dynamic schedule.
